Ribs

It's a known fact that Chad makes awesome ribs. I was not a rib eater before Chad but he has proved to me that if done right these things are great!!! Of course he always brings one or two in for me to try before pulling them off the grill and I always give Ty a taste. Well apparently this time a "taste" wasn't enough. He wanted his very own rib!!! Nothing like watching your kid go to town on a rib!!! Do notice he is wearing a white shirt....it wasn't white for very long!! :)

Vegas Baby!!!!!

We are now home and recovering from Vegas!!! Wow what a great time!!! We ate well....drank PLENTY, and of course lost a little money...but it was all worth it!! I even got to bet on the horses....you can start playing the ponies at 9 am until 10 pm!!! Of course we walk in and I placed a $2 exacta box on 7 & 8 (with 7 being the favorite and 8 having odds of 8/1 or so). No shit my first race and 7 & 8 come in first and second....with 8 coming up outta nowhere. I was jumping up and down...until I saw they had an inquiry on the race. There I was 5 min later holding a now LOSING ticket since apparently 7 boxed another horse out. COME ON! I told Chad we could stop betting then cause my luck just ran out!!!!!! We also managed to get pretty good at craps!! What a GREAT game!!!!! After an adult only weekend we were definitely excited to see our little guy!!! And he did great while we were gone which is exactly what a parent wants to hear!!! YEAH VEGAS!!!!!

Ultimatums

The other evening we were getting ready to head out grocery shopping so Chad put Tyler's shoes on and went outside to get the car started. It was my job to finish getting Ty ready to go. I grabbed his jacket and told him to come put it on cause we were going "byes". He shook his head no and backed into the corner. I said, "Don't you want to go byes with us?" and he again shook his head no. So I asked him, "Want me to call Kathy (she's the babysitter across the street)?" He paused and looked at me, so I repeated the question. He moved towards the door and looked out the side window (as if she would be walking up the sidewalk to the house now). So I asked one more time, "Do you want to stay with Kathy or go byes?" And he suddenly ran over to me with his arms reached out for his jacket. Nothing a little ultimatum couldn't fix.

Now here is the problem. If we continue to use this scenario to get him to do things we want, when in fact we do need Kathy to come babysit he is going to have a MAJOR MELTDOWN. Thus, I stopped my ultimatums and have moved on to finding another way to get a toddler to do what his mother wants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seafood Medley

Just a quick comment on the fact that Tyler had some peaches, corn, and pasta for his dinner. I made a comment to Chad that I felt bad that I hadn’t gotten any protein into his meal. When Chad and I sat down to eat ours, he wanted to sit on my lap….no problem other than he then proceeded to eat all my bay scallops, calamari, and mini shrimp out of my pesto pasta. I mean COME ON…..what 2 year old eats seafood like that???? It amazes me what that kid will eat!!!!

Dad in Charge of Breakfast

Typically I am in charge of getting breakfast for Tyler which consists of scrambled eggs, or fruit, or oatmeal, etc. The other morning Chad brought Ty down while I was still getting ready. When I came downstairs I discovered the way Chad does breakfast...somehow this picture speaks for itself.

Cupcakes

I came up from work the other day to find Tyler helping Nanny and Zoey bake cupcakes. Considering I don't bake, this was all new for him. I think he was thoroughly enjoying helping to crack eggs in the batter, stir with the spatula, and then OF COURSE lick the beater. I missed the end result of them enjoying the fruits of their HARD labor but Nanny took pics for us to see. As you can see, our child does NOT like chocolate at all......no not at all. :)

GO STEELERS!!!!

Well a couple days late but still needed to send a shout out to the Steelers!! As most know, Chad is a huge Steelers fan so this was a great Superbowl for him!!! He wore his hat, Tyler wore his outfit, and I dressed in black so I was close enough to their colors (since I have no Steeler gear). Our party was a success and not a single person cheered against Chad....I think everyone knew better!!!! ;) I'll have to upload a picture of the boys in their gear!! SO CUTE!!! Now.....we just need to get the Vikings there and mamma will be happy!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!
